Cyprus law firms are the most visible sector we have measured. Until one question.
Six questions a client actually types, put to an AI search engine in the Cyprus market, every cited source recorded and checked by name. Law firms came out ahead of every other sector on this island: 76 of 120 sources were a firm’s own website. That is not the answer we expected, and it is not the answer that sells best. It is simply what we measured.
of cited sources were a business’s own website
of the answer belonged to portals, directories and rankings
questions cited no business website at all
Five questions out of six belong to the firms
Ask for an immigration lawyer for a residency permit and 19 of 20 cited sources are law firms. Ask for a corporate firm for foreign investors, a firm in Nicosia, a lawyer in Limassol for a property purchase: 14, 14 and 14 of 20. Then ask the question of someone who has not chosen yet, who do I hire to set up a company in Cyprus, and it collapses to 4 of 20. The rest goes to company formation agents, trust providers, ranking directories and a WordPress list. The same break appears in construction, where the beginner’s question returned 2 of 12.
The six questions, and what answered them
The bold row is the question the firms lost. Read the last column as: of everything the engine cited, this many were a law firm’s own website.
| Question asked | Sources cited | Own websites |
|---|---|---|
| Best law firm in Cyprus for company formation | 20 | 11 |
| Lawyer in Limassol for buying property | 20 | 14 |
| Immigration lawyer in Cyprus for residency permit | 20 | 19 |
| Law firm in Nicosia Cyprus | 20 | 14 |
| Who do I hire to set up a company in Cyprus | 20 | 4 |
| Corporate law firm in Cyprus for foreign investors | 20 | 14 |
| Total | 120 | 76 |
Who owns the answers instead
The 44 sources that were not a firm’s site break down into 16 directory entries (Legal 500, Lawzana, lawyersincyprus), 16 pages from company formation agents, trust providers and public authorities, 8 portals and 4 ranking lists. Notably, the providers who take the answer at the decision moment are mostly not law firms at all.

What this means if you practise law in Cyprus
You are visible. We are saying that plainly because the opposite is what most agencies will tell you, and our own measurement does not support it. If someone knows they need an immigration lawyer in Cyprus, the engine sends them to law firms.
What you lose is the client who has not decided yet. The person still working out whether they need a lawyer at all, or an agent, or an accountant, is handed a company formation service. That client has not been framed by anyone yet, which is precisely why they are the expensive mandate later.
The pages that win that moment are not sales pages. They answer the question completely and say who the answer is not for, which is also the kind of page an AI engine quotes. Your existing site probably already has the expertise. It usually does not have that page.
What this measurement does not show
Six questions are six questions. An AI search engine does not return the same answer to everyone, results shift over weeks, and a different phrasing would produce a different list. What this does establish is the shape of the market on the day it was measured, with every source recorded and open to inspection. Treat it as a reading, not a verdict, and take the reading yourself before you believe ours.
- In a September 2026 measurement of six client questions in the Cyprus market, 76 of 120 sources cited by an AI search engine were a law firm’s own website: 63 percent, the highest share of any Cyprus sector measured.
- Cyprus law firms held 14 to 19 of 20 cited sources on specific client questions, but only 4 of 20 on the general question “who do I hire to set up a company in Cyprus”.
- The sources that displaced Cyprus law firms at the decision moment were mostly not law firms: company formation agents, trust providers, public authorities and legal directories.
How it was measured
Six questions, phrased the way a buyer actually types them, put to an AI search engine for the Cyprus market. Every source the engine cited was recorded and classified by hand: the website of a business in this sector, or a portal, directory, social platform or ranking article. Domains were only counted as a business website after being checked by name. An earlier automated pass counted every unfamiliar domain as a business and overstated the figure badly, which is exactly the kind of error that makes a measurement worthless.

Questions about this measurement
How visible are Cyprus law firms in AI search?
In a measurement of six client questions on 2 September 2026, 76 of 120 cited sources (63 percent) were a law firm’s own website. Strictly confirmed by name it was 68 (57 percent); we publish the higher figure because it is the one less favourable to our own argument. Construction reached 42 percent, real estate 20 percent and restaurants 13 percent.
Which question do Cyprus law firms lose?
The one asked before the client has chosen a profession. “Who do I hire to set up a company in Cyprus” returned 20 sources, of which only 4 were a law firm. Company formation agents, trust and corporate service providers, the companies registry and directories took the rest.
Who gets cited instead of the firms?
Across the six questions, 16 sources were directory entries such as Legal 500, Lawzana and lawyersincyprus.com, another 16 came from company formation agents, trust providers and public bodies, 8 were portals and 4 were ranking lists.
How was this measured, and can I check it?
Six questions to an AI search engine in the Cyprus market, every cited source recorded and each domain checked by name before it was counted. That check mattered: six domains that look like directories, among them lawyer.com.cy and cypruslawyers.com.cy, turned out to be law firms. Yes, you can check it. Ask the same questions and read the sources. We will also run it for your firm at no charge.

Domani AI. The founders live and work in Larnaca. This is our own market, not a report about someone else’s.
We publish the raw sources with the result, so anyone can repeat the measurement and disagree with it.
